Description
Sundry newspaper and magazine clippings of articles, interviews and advertisements relating to Jean Batten. Includes clippings covering her record flights; awards and honours; the conclusion of relationship with Captain Walter; her role as an ambulance driver during World War II; her visits to New Zealand in the 1970s; her autobiography; the Jean Batten Primary School and gift of painting by Cyril Peckham; her death; a bronze memorial sculpture by Anthony Stokes; the return of her trophies and medals to the Museum of Transport and Technology; and the replica models of her Percival Gull aircraft G-ADPR and Gipsy Moth G-AARB by Bob Miles.
