"This catalogue is a thoroughly revised version of the previous issue. The theoretical part has been amplified and brought up to date. The types and series of SKF bearings covered by previous catalogues are included, but technical development has necessitated a certain amount of expansion. Thus, for example, single-row deep-groove ball bearings with side-plates, single-row angular-contact ball bearings, a series of light cylindrical roller bearings, and a range of spherical roller thrust bearings are included, and the available range of plummer blocks has been extended by the addition of a type of housing designed for bearings where extra true running at high speeds is required... The dimension and load tables are followed by drawings showing a number of representative bearing schemes designed for a great variety of purposes." - Preface
