Negative number 20A on a film strip. Image of a ZK-HCK Bee BMH Gyroplane parked on grass. View is of starboard side; aircraft has ZK-HCK on vertical stabilizer and rudder. Background is a garden and top right corner is a partial view of a building. Wide shot.

This Gyroplane was homebuilt by Brian Heape in the basement of his family home in Whangarei. The aircraft was powered by a V.W.1600 engine that was then bored out to 2000 cc. With Heape constructing the rotor blades himself, and John Lee engineering the rotor head, and electrical work was carried out by Barry Isles Electrical.
