Description
Account of Les Munro's life as recounted to Malcolm Kirkby. "While this is not intended to be a complete story of my life, it does, as a result, concentrate largely on my service career, as described to me by Malcolm Kirkby, and to a large extent, is based on the entries in my Log books. This covers in some detail my time on both 97 and 617 squadrons, RAF and my participation in the Dams raid of 16th/17th May, 1943 as well as my time on 1690 Bomber Defence Training Flight (BDTF). A brief history of my early life prior to joining the RNZAF and that of my post war career have been covered in broad terms to give the reader a rounded picture of my life before and after my war service." - foreword.
