Description
Navigational computer. Object consists of a square metal plate encased in a black plastic casing. The top metal plate is connected by four metal screws down each long side. There is a circular measuring component in the centre, held by eight small screws. Above the circular ruler in the centre is engraved "TRUE COURSE" followed by various measurements. In the centre of the circle is a plastic cover under which is a grid with numbers. There is a small black circle and dot in the very centre of the plastic cover. On the left side of the meal plate is as a small L-shaped piece of metal, extending over the edge of the object.Underneath this is a plastic extension, creating a grooved section. On the right side of the object is an indented groove. A small black plastic dial is at the top of the right side.
On the rear of the object is an adjustable circular ruler. The ruler consists of various measurements. In the centre of the ruler is engraved text, "For / Air Speed Corrections/ On the scales above set / Air Temperature against Indicated Height. / Read True Air Speed on Miles scale against / Indicated Air Speed (corrected for instrum- / mental error) on Minutes scale". Underneath this is the engraved text, "For / Height Corrections / On the scales above set / Air Temperature against Indicated Height. / Read corrected height on Miles scale opposite / Indicated Height (corrected for instrumental / error) on Minutes scale". Underneath the ruler is the engraved text, "A[logo]M / NAVIGATIONAL COMPUTOR / MK. II F* REF. No. 6B/214 / ISOTHERMAL CALIBRATION". There are four screws and four feet in each corner.
