Description
Ambulance stretcher, collapsible with 2 wooden handles 2.33 m long with white canvas body. Handles open out to 59 cm locked into position by metal locking bars. Strap type legs at end of each stretcher. Ground rests are semi-circular.
This stretcher was used during WWII to transport patients in ambulances to the hospital. After the end of the war, it was used at Ellerslie sports grounds to transport injured rugby and league players off the field, until it was retired in 2002.
