Air New Zealand Commemorative Teacup (part of a set with a saucer) from opening of the Air New Zealand First Class Lounge in Los Angeles Airport Terminal. Made by Noritake, Japan
White teacup with a gold/yellow koru pattern around the exterior of the cup. Between breaks in the band is the Air New Zealand logo. Mark on base "JAPAN / AIR NEW ZEALAND".
Brief History
In 1984 the Olympic Games were hosted in Los Angeles, USA. To coincide with this event, Air New Zealand opened a First Class Lounge in the Los Angeles airport terminal. It was at this opening event that this commemorative teacup and saucer were presented to invited guests.
