Description
"The title of this book is the name of a new kind of calculating machine designed especially to evaluate solutions of differential equations. The differential analyser has proved particularly valuable in handling equations which are not amenable to formal mathematical treatment, but which frequently arise in modern research work and technical problems. The general principles and constructional features of a typical differential analyser are described, and its application to a number of problems is discussed in some detail. There is a chapter on the mechanical solution of certain types of partial differential equations. A small-scale Meccano model analyser and also a new machine still in process of construction in America, are described." - Preface
