Description
Telecom Phone Card presentation collectors pack. The collectors pack is held in a clear, plastic case which has the Telecom logo embossed in the top right corner.

A cardboard sleeve holds the presentation booklet. On the front of the sleeves is an illustration of a pair of gumboots and a row of shoe polish along the bottom. In the top right corner is the Telecom logo with the text, “PhoneCard ™” underlined. The text, “KIWIANA / RED / […] / OFFICIAL / COLLECTORS ISSUE / 650 / SETS ONLY / 1999 / GENERAL / ISSUE / KIWI / BLACK / SHOE POLISH”, is depicted on the front. On the reverse of the sleeve is the Telecom logo with the text, “PhoneCard ™” underlined. Beneath this is the text, “TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS / […]”, detailing further information about the PhoneCards.

The presentation booklet folds outs to reveal three interior pages which hold five PhoneCards. The front cover of the booklet is the same as the front cover of the cardboard sleeve.

On the first page the Telecom logo with the text, “PhoneCard ™” underlined is seen in the top right corner. Illustrations of paua shells, shoe polish, an Edmonds food product, butter and L&P decorate the background. The text, LADIES, / BRING A PLATE / […]”, is printed next to a cut out which holds a Phone Card.

The PhoneCard has an illustration of a Pavlova dessert with the text, “KIWIANA” spelt out in illustrations of kiwifruit. There is a red arrow at the top pointing in an upwards direction. The Telecom logo is visible in the bottom left corner, and the text, “$10 GST / INC. / PHONECARD ™” is present in the bottom right corner. A row of illustrations of an Edmonds baking product decorate the bottom edge. On the reverse of the card is the barcode, “512CO 362”, in the top corner is the letter, “B”. Beneath this is the text, “Kiwiana 1999 Ladies bring a plate – by Fifi Colston / Valid for use only with Telecom magnetic PhoneCard payphones until December 1999. / There will be no refunds on any unused credit.”. Below this is the text, “Telecom New Zealand Limited / Telecom PhoneCard™ Collector Service – 0800 508 805 / Services charged using this card are subject to the Telecom standard Terms / for Residential Customers available by calling Telecom free on 123 / http://www.telecom-phonecards.co.nz / COLLECTOR ISSUE 1999”.

On the next page of the booklet are the same background illustrations and the text, “GET IN BEHIND / […]”, as well as “A FEED OF FISH ‘N’ CHIPS / […]”. Below these are two cut outs for two PhoneCards.

On the reverse of the card is the barcode, “511DO 362”, in the top corner is the letter, “B”. Beneath this is the text, “Kiwiana 1999 The best things since sliced bread – by Fifi Colston / Valid for use only with Telecom magnetic PhoneCard payphones until December 1999. / There will be no refunds on any unused credit.”. A certificate of authenticity is held loosely within the collector’s pack. The certificate is cream-coloured paper with the blue border around the edge. The Telecom logo is at the top centre of the page. Below this is the text, “Certificate of / Authenticity / COLLECTOR PACK : Kiwiana / General Issue Collector Pack / RELEASE DATE: May 1999 / QUANTITY: 650 sets issued / No. 362”. In the bottom right corner is a printed signature and the text, “Bruce Bodicom / TELECOM PAYPHONES”. In the centre of the background is a picture of Spot the Dog with the text, “CERTIFICATE OF / AUTENTICITY”.

On the first page of the reverse of the booklet are more illustrations and the text, “KIWIANA 1999 / […]”, which further details the theme of the collector’s pack. On the second page of reverse is the Telecom logo with the text, “PhoneCard ™” underlined. Beneath this is the text, “TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS / […]”, which has further information about the PhoneCards.
