Description
Thomas pulled the pages from his pilot's logs and has placed them into a metal-bound folder. Additional material such as photographs, correspondence and other records relating to Thomas' career have been inserted into the log. Additions to this log include photographs from military pilot's training and Thomas' involvement in WWII; photographs of aircraft flown by Thomas; military aeronautics training documents; pilot's instructional flying documents; a certificate appointing Thomas to the Officer of General Duties Branch of the RNZAF on the 23rd of October 1943; RNZAF correspondence to Thomas; aeronautical approach and wind direction maps for islands in the Pacific; surrender notices; pilot's A license issued on the 22nd of November 1945 by the Civil Aviation Branch of the Air Department of New Zealand; Radio Telegraph operator's certificate; 3rd class aircraft radio telegraph operator's license issued on the 18th of January 1946 issued by the Air Department of New Zealand; pilot's B license issued on the 28th of May 1946 by the Civil Aviation Branch of the Air Department of New Zealand and examination results for B license; correspondence with NAC about employment; internal NAC documents and memorandums; correspondence and membership documents for the Middle Districts Aero Club; images of NAC staff copied from White's Aviation serial; pilot's report; summaries of flying for license renewals; and an air radio announcing the birth of Thomas' daughter.
