Description
Two floatation tubes approximately 4 metres in length, for attaching to the base of the Bell Ranger helicopter [ZK-HGO] skids to facilitate water landing.
The floats are painted yellow [Parts 1, 2]. Each float has six air valves to enable inflation. The grey air valves are impressed with: “MADE IN ITALY / BRAVO / 2000 […]”. The floatation tubes each have a pair of metal framing poles that are attached to the length of the floats and have attachment blocks and platforms to allow attachment to the skids. On each framing pole, there are two metal attachment blocks painted black, fastened via long U-bolts (four per float). At one end there is a square black platform with a hole in the centre and another half circle cut-out facing the end of each float. There is also a rectangular metal attachment which spans the width of the two framing poles on the same end.
Part 1 has a maker’s plate on a piece of black rubber at the end next to the square platform: “TYPE AND MODEL FLOAT - HELICOPTER / DATE OF MANUFACTURE 28/04/95 / PART No KBM 3001 SERIAL No 3001-3A […]. Part 2 is slightly longer than Part 1 and has a maker’s plate on a piece of dark red rubber at the opposite end to the square platform: “TYPE AND MODEL FLOAT - HELICOPTER / DATE OF MANUFACTURE 21/11/1997 / PART No K.B.M. 3001-2 SERIAL No 241197 / KBM INTERNATIONAL […].
There are two aluminium cross tubes that attach to and support the frame [Parts 3, 4]. These are painted black. Part 3 is inscribed with “LR”. The tube has two diagonal bends a third of the way down on both sides, with a straight section in the centre. Part 4 is inscribed with “LF” and is a straight metal tube.
