A microfiche reader, made by Eye Communication Systems Ltd (EYECOM), USA. Model number 12002, serial number 03567. Reader operates at 220/240 Volts, 50/60 Hertz, 0.2 Amps. Uses a Halogen FLT lamp 13.8V 28W.
Microfilm reader consists of a large opaque display screen set in the front of a beige/off-white coloured monitor casing. The framing around the screen is black. A wider band along the bottom of the screen has the model printed, "EYECOM 1200" and two control knobs. The knob on the left controls “FOCUS” and the one on the right controls “ROTATION”. There is also an adjustment slider above this with a black square knob. This has “HIGH” printed on the left and “LOW” on the right. On the top edge of the monitor casing is a gold maker’s label: “Supplied by / Barbican Microfilm / & Equipment / Limited / 020-7739-2284 / BARBICAN” with a logo to the right.
The screen casing is approximately box shaped with an angled base. This is mounted to a flat rectangular base section which rests on the tabletop / work surface. The base section contains the sliding microfiche holder, on/off switch, and power cable at rear.
Two labels on the rear.
