Description
Control panel console. Small, horizontally-orientated rectangular control panel, with polished wooden edging on left and right sides. The object is angled upward, with a steeper angle at the back. The object has a smooth plastic blue-coloured surface. At the top left there is a piece of clear Perspex, partially covering four buttons. The buttons are grey with white capitalised text and a black border. From the left they read, “GENERAL/ALARM" ; "ALL/CLOSED" ; "SIREN" ; "LOCAL/ALARM". In the centre is a small power outlet – a black circle with three pin holes housed inside a metal rectangle with two screws. Below the plug are more buttons in three sections, “BUZZER ON OFF”, INTERCOM LIST MUTE”, and "MONITOR LINK". On the right is a group of eight square buttons with a red indicator light above. These read: “MON" ; "CAM" ; "SEQ" ; "HOLD" ; "PROG" ; "FWD/STEP" ; "BACK/STEP" ; "DWELL”. Underneath this is a seven-segment display, which light up numbers when console is functioning. Below this is printed “MML SYSTEMS.” in white.
The main part of the control panel has a series of buttons. In the centre is a number pad, "1 2 3 / 4 5 6 / 7 8 9 / # 0 *", and buttons below, "ENTER A B C ENTER / OPEN / STOP CLOSE". On the left is a square box containing "CURSOR KEYS", with four directional arrows, and to the top right of the box is a rectangular box with "O N S" buttons. To the left of this are the buttons "YES NO / CANCEL / LOCAL". Below the cursor keys are "ZONE WINDOW / SPEAK / ACK". On the right of the number pad are camera controls. These are in a square box which reads "CAMERA CONTROLS / PAN AND TILT", with four directional arrow buttons. Above this is a rectangular box containing more buttons "ZOOM FOCUS IRIS / IN / IN / OPEN / WASH / OUT / OUT / CLOSE / WIPE". Below this, the controls mirror the left side, "ZONE WINDOW / ACK / SPEAK". There is a There is a long piece of grey plastic along the bottom edge of the object. The underside of the object is a grey metal panel. "R/E" is written in pen. There are various screws and holes.
The back of the item is grey metal. It has a length of black ribbed plastic running horizontally across near the top edge. The top edge to the left has a line of adhesive residue. On the left is a small white reset button, with “Reset” written in black pen underneath. To the right are this are three electronic outlets with different functions. There are 5 holes in the back and to the right of the object. The Perspex is screwed in place using two metal screws and two horizontal metal pieces. Below this is a circular metal button with “PACOM / Reset” in pen below. To its right is another plug with a white barcode label underneath. This reads “CORRECTION GROUP ASSET / CG034031”.
This control panel replaced 2019.135.1 and 2019.135.2 in the mid-1980s. This system was completely electrical in operation. This control panel upgraded the manual key entry to an electronic system for all the doors and access ways.
