Description

Series of correspondence relating to Tait’s application for a series of speed records after a flight in a Beechcraft Bonanza from London to New Zealand in April 1982, in an attempt to regain Jean Batten’s England to New Zealand record for New Zealand. Also includes mention of the RNZAC awarding Tait a Notable Achievement certificate. The series of correspondence evidences the speed records Tait did obtain, as well as the dispute for the overall record for England – New Zealand. Also includes a letter thanking the Taits for their hospitality from the Beech Aircraft Corporation.
