Description
Cast iron, steel and wood in brown with black base. Food "bowl" is a drum (with wooden base) which is rotated by a reciprocating pawl from hand cranked gears. A separate reciprocating arm connected to a beam (on a fulcrum), provides the vertical motion for the chopper blade. It is used to facilitate repetitive tasks such as chopping, slicing, grinding and mixing food. It is very similar to the kinds of food processors used today, except that more modern examples have materials such as plastic and are often motorised, as opposed to human powered.
