Description
Pēpi-Pod safe infant sleep space.
Part 1: Large, rectangular pod made from transparent plastic. There is a grooved handle on each end. On one end is the embossed text, "pēpi-pod TM / SLEEP SPACE". On the other end is an embossed image of harakeke (flax). On either side of this are ventilation slits. On each side of the pod is a window. On the left hand side of the pod is an embossed moon and star symbol. On the right hand side of the pod is an embossed sun symbol. On the bottom of the pod are embossed instructions.
Part 2: Large, white rectangular mattress custom fit to the pod. The mattress is made from enviro-foam coated with a moisture resistant polyester. A small black tag has text sewn in white, "pēpi-pod R mattress / Helping babies keep a safe / position (on the back) for easy / breathing as they sleep. / NZ made. Enviro-foam. No CFC. / Moisture proof cover. Wipe clean. / All babies everywhere need to / sleep flat, level and on their / backs. This protects breathing / during a vulnerable stage. / www.pepipod.co.nz".
Part 3: White sheet, made up of a bottom 'slip' sheet and a top 'tuck' sheet. The bottom sheet is reversible (flannelette/poplin) to provide a warmer or cooler option. The bottom sheet creates a pouch for the mattress to be slipped into, whilst the top sheet can be wrapped around the mattress. A black sewn tag on the sheet reads, "pēpi-pod sheet system / Helps keep bedding away from / baby's face / NZ made. 100% cotton. Cold or warm / wash. Gentle cycle. Line dry. / To use, slip mattress into sheet / pocket. Bring top sheet up and over baby - to under chin. Tuck / both sides under the mattress. / www.pepipod.co.nz".

A larger tag is attached to one end of the blanket which reads, "pēpi-pod blanket / Helping babies manage / temperature when sleeping. / Made form 100% merino wool / for warmth without weight. / NZ made. Cold wash. Pull gently / to restore shape. Dry flat. / For extra warmth, put more, clothing on your baby, not more / covers. Tuck blanket in firmly. / www.pepipod.co.nz".

The front of the card is green with the text, "Your Tube / spread the safe sleep message / 4 ways a baby can / accidentally suffocate / covered face / pinched nose / 'chin to chest' / position of the neck / Pressure on, or / against, the chest / Please use this tube to / demonstrate to others". On the reverse is an image of harakeke with the text, "For you and your baby / With thanks to support from / your community / your health service / TCI New Zealand Ltd / Baby First Ltd / Change for our Children Ltd. / We need your help / In exchange for this sleep / space, please share with / others what you have / learned about protecting / babies as they sleep.".
