Description
Nokia 100 mobile phone.

Part 1: Grey mobile phone with a small aerial at the top right which can be extended. On the front of the phone is a earpiece and a display screen with the text, "NOKIA" in white. Below this is the keypad consisting of a number of buttons with the text, "PWR / STO / [...]". On the bottom of the phone is a small, circular charging port. On the reverse of the phone is "NOKIA" in white. There is an insert for a battery and three stickers. A black sticker reads, "THIS DEVICE COMPLIES WITH PART 15 OF / THE FCC RULES [...]". A white sticker reads, "TELEPERMIT / This Nokia N100 Mobile Phone / may be connected to the / Telecom Cellular Network / [...]". Another white sticker reads, "NOKIA / Model: 100 / Type: THA-9/B / SN: 165/15720993 / [...] / PRODUCT OF KOREA".

Part 2: Thin, grey battery. A white sticker reads, "NOKIA / US. PAT. PENDING / [...] / MADE IN KOREA".
Brief History
Launched in 1993, the analogue Nokia 100 was introduced as a simplified version of the Nokia 101, aimed at the consumer rather than business market. Many of the early analogue mobiles were aimed at business users and the price point was too high for personal users. The instruction manual for the 100 points to one of the scaled down features, the phone's memory, with only 15 numbers, including the phone’s own number, able to be stored.
