Description
Gibbs Quadski. Red, four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle which can convert between water use and land use.

The front of the Quadski has a large bumper with a silver tow hook and a grill. A small circular light is on either side of the bumper. At the front of the vehicle is a black and silver hood ornament featuring the Quadski logo, which reads, “GIBBS / quadski”. There are two wheels, one on each side of the vehicle. A sticker above each wheel reads, "WARNING / Keep away from wheels, underside, and back of Quadski / when wheels retracting/deploying or when throttle applied". Embossed on the front right tyre is, “CST / C-9297-1 / [triangle] T.W.I. / ROTATION / STANDARD RIM 6.5 / CST / MADE IN CHINA / T.W.I. / CST / T.W.I. / 25x8.00-12 2P.R. / TUBELESS / 59F N.H.S. / 10PSI . At the centre of the vehicle is a black dashboard, centre console and handlebars. The dashboard has a large speedometer with “GIBBS” printed in the centre in white. On the left-hand side of the dashboard is printed text which reads, “ON WATER / WARNING / Collisions result in more / INJURIES AND DEATHS / than any other type of / accident for personal / watercraft (PWC). / TO AVOID COLLISIONS: / SCAN CONSTANTLY for / people, objects, and other / watercraft. Brief History
The Gibbs Amphibian ‘Quadski’ is an amphibious vehicle which continued the technology developments made by the company for the road going Aquada. It retailed at US$40,000 in 2012 as an all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) come personal watercraft (PWC). Unlike the Aquada, the Quadski was not intended to be road legal but for trail, off-road usage.

The Quadski is powered by a 1.3 4-cylinder BMW engine and the Gibbs patented jet drive system for propulsion through water. Like the Aquada, it also features a retractable suspension system to bring the wheels up out of the water in less than five seconds when converting from land use. It has been designed with a wide body and light-weight composite hull to improve usability on land and water. The wide body and lower centre of gravity assists with handling on land, while the light-weight composite hull provides stability from rolling on water.

In 2014 the company introduced the Quadski XL, a two-seater version with increased storage capacity. Company founder, Alan Gibbs, sees the Quadski as a product which paves the way for use of this technology by enforcement services and first responders, in addition to water sports enthusiasts.
