Description

Flight Suit New Zealand Police Air Support Unit.

Navy blue regulation flight suit uniform worn by the New Zealand Police Air Support Unit. The object is a full-length jumpsuit made from a durable material. A zipper covered by a flap runs from the neck of the suit down to the inseam. The New Zealand Police crest has been embroidered onto the proper left next to the words “POLICE / AIR SUPPORT UNIT”. Two diagonal breast pockets can be found at the front of the object, angling inwards. The zipper closes towards the outer edge of the garment. Around the waist is an inbuilt hook and loop waist adjustment with hidden elastic centre in in back of garment which allows the waist of the suit to be adjusted by the wearer.

On the right thigh of the suit is a pocket with a top zipper that opens towards the inseam. On the left, there is another thigh pocket with a side zipper that opens downwards. At the bottom of the flight suit are two lower leg pockets with top zippers that open toward the inseam. At the bottom of the suit, on each of the legs, is a zipper expansion opening with a curtain.

Each of the shoulders on the suit has a shoulder strap which has been sewn onto the object at one end and secured with a dome at the other. On each of the sleeves, a patch with the New Zealand Coat of Arms and “NEW ZEALAND / POLICE” embroidered on it has been sewn to the garment. The cuff of the sleeves is adjustable and secured with a Velcro strap which ban be tightened or loosened to fit the wearer. On the proper left sleeve is a bellowed utility pocket with a flap covering the zipper. On the outside is a long, thin, open pocket.

Inside the suit on the collar is a black label which has been sewn to the neck of the objects collar. “TECHNICAL / TSC / SAFETY CLOTHING / NEW ZEALAND MADE” is embroidered in red and white. Below this is a white fabric tag with “OVERALL / STYLE / NZPASU / SIZE; 6/MTM / [name] / W:6562;1207 / MADE IN / NEW ZEALAND” printed in black. Inside the waistline, there is the remnants of a sewn white tag which has been cut off.
