Eagle Signal CT250 Road Traffic Control Unit.

Two-tiered metal Eagle Signal road traffic control unit. The components and circuitry of the object are housed in square metal, blue case which is attached to the object on a hinge.

Along the top tier of the object are a series of nine vertical metal handles which enable the user to pull out the corresponding panel of components. Each of the panels varies in size. The first six panels have several red lights and dials set into them, their functions and increments are printed onto the panel in black. At the top of each of the drawers, is a label in printed black text which identifies the panel’s significance “VEHICLE PHASE / CONTROL / PEDESTRIAN / PHASE / CONTROL / VEHICLE PHASE / CONTROL / PEDESTRIAN / PHASE / CONTROL / VEHICLE PHASE / CONTROL / SEQUENCE CONTROL / SEQUENCE SELECT / POWER UNIT – 24.V.D.C / POWER UNIT +24V.D.C”. At the bottom of each, a model number has been printed in black above an engraved serial number “MODEL C.T 265 / SERIAL H.S. 875 / MODEL C.T [?] / SERIAL [?] / MODEL C.T 265 / SERIAL H.S. 448 / MODEL C.T 266 / SERIAL H.S. 615 / MODEL C.T 265 / SERIAL H.S. 024 / MODEL C.T 264A / SERIAL H.S. 503 / MODEL C.T 262 SERIAL H.S. 127 / MODEL C.T 261 SERIAL H.S. 071”. The drawers pull out on a track to reveal various electrical components, wiring, and circuitry.

The bottom tier of the object has two horizontal metal handles at the top. The single bottom panel opens downwards on a hinge to allow access to the electrical components, wiring, and circuitry house within the object. The face of the panel is divided into 4 columns by printed black lines. Several dials are located in each of the panels with their command printed next to them. Each of the panels is headed by printed black text which reads “”B” PHASE / DETECTORS / “C” PHASE / DETECTORS / SUPPLY” and “SIMULATE” has been printed at the bottom of each column. In the top left corner, a blue sticker with the embossed text, “NO MAX RECALL / STOPLINE DETECTION” has been adhered. To the right of the dials, there are three patches of black ink where words have been coloured over and a series of metal prongs which protrude from the object.

The following text can be located along the bottom, “CT250 SERIES ACTUATED CONTROL UNIT SERIAL HS 047 MODEL C.T. 250 / MANUFACTURED IN NEW ZEALAND BY / HARDING SIGNALS LTD . P.O BOX 36007, LOWER HUTT / BLISS / [logo] EAGLE SIGNAL”.
