Description
Road Traffic Controller Type 533 manufactured by the Automatic Electric and Telephone Company (NZ) Limited.
The unit rests on a vertical, metal frame, painted duck-egg blue, and sits on four orange rubber feet. A white plaque attached to the frame has black printed text, "[ate logo] TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS [cs logo] / Automatic Telephone & Electric Co. (N.Z.) Ltd. / Road Traffic Controller Type 533 / Three phase working model as installed / and maintained in New Zealand by / PLESSY [logo] GROUP COMMUNICATION SYSYTEMS (N.Z.) LTD.".
The electrical components are encased in a clear perspex box. The electrical components consist of various units, fuses and cabling.
Printed on the top component in varying black and white is the text, "VR2 / C6 / C11 / VR2 / 12BH7 12BH7".
The components in the middle section each have a printed black letter and a white sticker. The first component has a black "A" and a sticker which reads, "LV3205A1ZR". The component below has a black "B" and a sticker which reads, "LV3206A1ZR". This format continues for all twenty three parts.
Three silver switches run down the right side of the bottom component, with white text, "ARTERIAL / PH.A. / ON / PH.B. / ON / PH.C. / ON". White text on the bottom component reads, "INTIAL & VEHICLE / 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 / INITAL VEHICLE / A B C A B C / MAXIMUM / 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 50 / INTER-GREEN / 3 4 5 6 7 8 10 12 / MAXIMUM INTER-GREEN / A B C A-B A-C B-A B-C C-A C-B".
Underneath the main unit are two silver metal power boxes. One on the proper right-hand side of the object has a maker's plate with the text, "PRIM / 230 / CAT. / F20 / BEACON / [logo] / RADIO LTD / SEC. / 12 / K.V.A. / 040". The box on the proper left has a red switch with white text, "OFF". Embossed text reads "MEM". A long black cable runs out from the power box and has been cut off at the end.
