Description
Dark varnish, wooden case. Identified as a HL14/1 substation. Handset has the words "Dictograph Telephone System" moulded into the handle. Red key is ring key. Each switch if push up or down is released by the operation of another unless 2 or more are operated together (e.g. conference call). Maker: Dictagraph Co. Dictograph has a wooden shell with a black bakelite stand on top for holding the head set. Headset its ontop of the stand and is also made of black bakelite. There is a thick electrical wrie affixed to the rear of the machine, insulated in black material. The front face of the dictograph has 8 cylindrical plastic switches, 7 are black, 1 is red.

This is an HL14/1 substation from the 1950's. Manufatured in the UK by Dictograph Telephones Ltd , Aurelia Road Croydon
