Brief History
Austins were one of the few non-American cars to make an impact on the New Zealand car market during the 1920s and 1930s. They ranked third in popularity in 1933 with 7,417 cars on New Zealand roads. This success was in large part due to the Austin 7, although larger models also had a following.

The Austin 6/18 had particular appeal to those wanting room and comfort for their passengers. It incorporated a number of improvements over previous models, especially in the braking and transmission systems.
