"It gives us very great pleasure to issue this Illustrated Price List.
It was only in February of 1929 that we delivered our first Pipe. But it was a Pipe to be proud of. It was not only the largest centrifugally-spun, reinforced concrete pipe ever in New Zealand, but Engineers agreed that our ambition to make the best Pipes of their kind ever produced in the Dominion, had been realised...
Hitherto, our products have borne no distinguishing Trade Mark, other than the name of our Company. From this date our Pipes and other products will be distinguished by the coined word "Spunwell", together with an illustration of a man in a Pipe. We are determined that "Spunwell" shall be a synonymous term for "better" concrete." - introduction
