A nautical pocket watch in box. This is not the original box. The watch is round with a white dial and black Roman numerals. It is fitted with two hands - one hour and one minute hand. The second hand is located at 6 o'clock. The winding crown is located at 12 o'clock. This is a mechanical, hand-wound watch, but is not in working order. Around the stem of the crown is a ring for attaching a chain. The case back opens up when the winding crown is depressed. On the inner case is the serial number 500051 with the silver marking 0,935 below it. On the caseback can be seen two holes with key stems for winding the watch. However, the key is missing. This is a navigational deck watch for finding correct Greenwich Mean Time, made around 1890, for the sailing ship, "Lord Templeton". It was Swiss made for Leicester of Twickenham.
