Brief History
The British Broadcasting Corporation Microcomputer System, commonly known as the BBC Micro, is a series of nine microcomputers made by the Acorn Computer company in Britain in the 1980s for the BBC Computer Literacy Project.
In 1982 the BBC broadcast “The Computer Programme,” a television series which aimed to introduce the public to computers. Most UK schools adopted the BBC Microcomputer System and it was also popular as a home computer in the UK, although its cost was relatively high.
