Description

Portion of airship structure R38. A V-shaped configuration constructed with 1 mm gauge aluminium. Cross braced for strength and rigidity. The bracing is pot riveted with 35 aluminium rivets. Those rivets on the flat top of the V-shape have been sanded flush with the bracing. This would appear to be the surface where the envelope touched the framework. Much of the bracing has been fluted for increased strength. The total surface of the metal has been lacquered.
