Description
Scales for the weighing of human infant (3). Cast iron, horizontally extended frame, upon which is a flat tray and the baby dish sits; a pedestal at one end containing the mechanism. Within the frame is a free-floating chassis to isolate the weight which is, in turn, connected to the mechanism inside the tower; the weighing process by beam and counter-weight. The tray sits on the chassis by 4 adjustable feet, is flat with a vertical end-piece; mounted longitudinally, the end-piece against the pedestal. The dish is a shallow bath with clip underneath to effect securement, tangentially, to the tray. A. Scales, painted white. Has a low pedestal and an exposed beam which is counter balanced by another shorter beam located behind. 'W. T. Avery, Birmingham' stamped on main frame in front of the pedestal. B. Tray - has no clips on vertical end-piece. C. Dish - has clips on its upper edge; no feet.
