Cork-shaper; Enterprise Manufacturing Company No.2.
Cast iron, consisting of a base - with 2 holes for securement upon which is an upwards facing, curved, ringed surface of a tightening radius. A ridged wheel, mounted by a side pillar, fits into the curved surface and acts, via a handle attached at its upper limit, to swing the wheel down and round against the decreasing radius of the lower surface, rolling the cork as it does so.
The manufacturer's name is on the handle; the size and model of the device is on the outside of the support pillar.
This device was used by the donor's grandfather in his paint and wallpaper supply business. [R Bailey & Son. Paint & Wallpaper Merchant]. Circa 1910.
