An Allis Chalmers tractor. 1938 WC model. Painted orange.
Brief History
Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company was the first to use pneumatic rubber tyres on tractors. This WC is one of the first models to be offered for sale with rubber tyres as standard. This model was also available to purchase with steel wheels.

The WC was also the first tractor to be constructed mainly of high-tensile steel.

WCs were extremely popular tractors. 178,000 were produced between 1933 and 1948. It was designed for working between rows of crops. WCs were the most popular Allis-Chalmers tractor in New Zealand, and were particularly popular in the South Island where cereal crops were grown.
