Description
Pilot of Officer's oxygen mask. The inlet valve is fixed to a fabric waist belt which has plastic clips similar to a seat buckle in an aeroplane. The inlet valve has a 28 mm long nozzle for fitting to the oxygen supply tube. An adjustment wheel controls the flow of oxygen. From the white, plastic housing of the inlet valve, is connected a plastic, concertina type tubing which connects to a full head mask. This is similar to a bee-keeper's protective helmet. The yellow plastic helmet covers the head and has an inner elastic skirt to provide a seal around the neck and also a plastic outer skirt to cover the shoulders. The length is 930 mm and width is 25 mm. The front of the helmet has a clear, plastic or Perspex visor which would give 180 degree visibility. The visor is 150 mm high and 345 mm long. This type of oxygen mask/helmet gives the user free use of the hands.
