Black compass in grey base, TYPE P8 No.34074D; gold plaque on base [Air Ministry identification plate] has: a crown, A.M. REF No.6A/0.726. Cylindrical metal casing. Three holes for mounting. Compass mounted within larger grey bracket. Glass plate on top with compass directions marked. Parallel cross-hairs across compass. Compass plate inside. Contains liquid.
