Description
Aeroplane message conveyance device. Long strap of linen, double-sewn with the tail divided. A pocket with a lead weight of about 300 grams in it, is at one end of the strip of linen. The message is placed in the pocket with the lead weight wrapped around it. The strip of linen is in 3 colours. The leading pocket end is blue. The middle section of the strip is yellow and the tail of the marker is dyed red. The lead weight is coiled. Extended out it would be 360 mm. The weight has military markings that look like arrowheads. The device is dropped from the aeroplane to one's Force in the field. The message is retrieved by one's troops and the marker used again.
