Description
Blue wool dress tunic, RNZAF. Short lapels, belted-waist and skirt waist. There are 4 patch pockets - left and right breast patch pockets have scalloped flaps with brass buttons. The pockets below the belt line are rectangular patch pockets with rectangular flaps. These also have brass buttons. There is a change pocket just above the waist belt on the right side. The waist belt is made of wool and is 50 mm wide. The belt has a brass buckle with 2 pins. The breast pockets have central vertical pleats. There is an internal pocket in the left breast lining which is made of blue, cotton fabric. On the left breast is a Pilot's badge which has a black wool background embroidered with a pair of wings and crown with the letters NZ enfolded in laurel leaves. On the medal bar is the Distinguished Flying Cross and pin. Next to this is the 1939-45 Star. There are 3 stripes on each sleeve. These are identical in design, that is black/light blue/black. On each shoulder is a black wool badge with New Zealand embroidered in white letters.
