Description
Single seat fighter. Single engine (1000 HP Allison V-1710-39, 12-cylinder engine) monoplane manufactured by Curtiss Wright Corporation, registered as NZ 3039. There is a bomb-bay in the undercarriage and there are 3 landing wheels (one under each wing and one at the tail). The fuselage has an aluminium-alloy monocoque structure and the propeller is 3-bladed. Each blade is painted black with yellow tips. The cockpit is accessed with a sliding Perspex panel and there is a radio mast behind the cockpit. The Kittyhawk is painted in camouflage colours with nose painted white. On each wing is a blue and white roundel. On each side of the fuselage is a yellow, blue and white roundel.
