Brief History
This M class tram no. 89 is one of Auckland's most numerous type, with ninety-nine built and running between 1908 and the early 1950s. This particular tram was in service from the 15th September, 1909 until the 20th August, 1953. Before coming to MOTAT, it was located at Pokeno Machinery Sales, Mangatawhiri, Hauraki Plains where it was used as workshop and break room.
