Description
Caterpillar Ten Tractor. Painted blue-grey. On tracks. Large arm chair style seat. Brake and gear levers between legs. Plates attached to back with instructions and patent numbers.
Brief History
The Caterpillar Ten was the smallest tractor made by the Caterpillar Tractor Company. Like many of the other Caterpillars, it was available in an ‘orchard’ version (which was low allowing access under trees), and a ‘high clearance’ version (for working in rows of crops). It was also available in wide-gauge and narrow-gauge tracks. This is tractor has narrow-gauge tracks. During World War One, tracked vehicles were operated and this technology was adapted for use in agricultural machinery.

Crawler tractors were used to turn steep farming land into pasture. This tractor has a
15 HP 4-cylinder petrol engine and three forward gears and one reverse gear.
