Description
This is a plastic model of Maudslay's Paddle Engine 1827. It consists of 3 cylinders mounted on a plastic base. There is an overhead crankshaft that is attached to the pistons with connecting rods. A green paddle wheel rests on the side of the model, but has nothing to do with the engine itself. It is the same wheel which attaches to the side of the boat (paired with a similar one on the opposite side) to propel it forward once the engines get going. The whole arrangement sits on a wooden base and is enclosed in a glass case.
