Description
This is a model of a Babcock W.I.F. (Wrought Iron Frame) type boiler. Scale: 1½" = 12". The boiler is suspended from the green beams and columns. All the brick work around the firebox is just to keep the heat confined to the boiler. The brickwork plays no part in the structural integrity of the boiler. The model of the boiler would have been presented to the company who purchased the actual boiler from Babcock and Wilcox (NZ) Limited, Fort Street, Auckland.
