Description
U.S.A. (United States of America) Distinguished Flying Cross awarded for bravery against the enemy while in the air. -1 Medal on ribbon which is mainly dark blue with a red stripe running down the centre, bordered by thin white stripes, and thicker white stripes on the sides. The medal is brass and has a 4-bladed propeller on the the front. The reverse is plain. -2 Bar made of silk and a pin attachment at the back which locks. The bar is mainly dark blue and has the same colour pattern as the ribbon. -3 Pip - metal with a brass stud at the back. Same colour pattern as the ribbon and bar. -4 Case - dark green in colour with parallel wavy gold lines bordering it and the words: "Distinguished Flying Cross" printed in the centre.
