Rectangular metal box with lid. On the lid in black it says: "Emergency Ration Mk II, Ref. No. 27P/7, Read Instructions Carefully". On the bottom, also in black, is a list of contents (barley sugar, chewing gum, malted milk tablets, energy tablets). Also written on the back are patent numbers and opening instructions.
