Description
Black and white photograph of Boyles anaesthetic machine. Shows detail of vaporisers, flowmeters and a rebreathing bag fitted onto an anaesthetic trolley. It is an example of a continuous flow anaesthetic machine which works by supplying compressed gases from cylinders through vaporisers to the patient through a breathing circuit. Boyle’s type machines are named after the London anaesthetist H E G Boyle (1875-1941).
