Description
Thomas Brown is the grandfather of William Thomas Maskell who was the bootmaker from whom the display of bootmaking material was obtained via his daughter, Mrs B N Hendricks in 1978. Portrait of a bearded man wearing a cloth cap and holding a walking stick in a brown surround and a dark brown wooden fame. He is seated and shown from waist level up. He is wearing a dark jacket, a grey waistcoat, and a white shirt that has two section of diagonally pleats down the front. The pleats meet in an arrowhead pattern several inches below the throat. Behind him to both left and right are parts of a wicker chair. His left hand is resting on his knee. His right arm is bend with his hand holding a stick.
