Description
Empty magazine (and box) from an F24 aerial camera, the magazine took roll film.
Brief History
First launched in 1925, the F24 aerial camera was still the main air reconnaissance camera used by British forces at the start of World War 2. By late 1941 however it was clear that the small 5" x 5" format and short focal length lens (20") could not produce sufficiently detailed photos, especially as camera-carrying aircraft were by then having to fly much higher.
