Description
Tip dray, heavy, farm or contractor's cart. The cart is the simplest of all wheeled vehicles. It has 2 wheels mounted on a single axle which takes the weight of the body. Farm carts were made lighter than wagons and could be pulled by a single horse which made them cheaper to run. The dray is a flat platform wagon with shallow sides. They often had canvas covers to protect their loads. This tip dray is more like the agricultural cart than the heavy brewers drays that were pulled by teams of horses. Cart painted beige with red wheels and black ironwork, originally had a blue body with 2 red wheels.
