Description
Les Birch's copy of a souvenir booklet put together to commemorate Kingsford Smith's Tasman Crossing in the Southern Cross aircraft in January 1933. Mentions Birch's involvements in the radio communications between the flight and the New Plymouth Aerodrome. Other content includes a brief biography of Kingsford Smith and an article by him about the Southern Cross aircraft nicknamed "the Old Bus." Illustrations include portraits of key individuals in organisation of this flight and of the crew. Designed, printed and published by McLeod and Slade.
