Adana Printing Machine.
Table top home printing press made of metal mounted on wood with four small bolts. Machine uses and 8x5 (inches) chase. The base of the machine is painted a rusty red and has four holes in the back for oiling, and two holes at the front, near the handle for oiling. On the proper left side of the base, near the front, there is an embossed label which reads "MODEL 8 X / ADANA (PRINTING / MACHINES) LTD / TWICKENHAM, MIDDLESEX, ENGLAND / SERIAL NO. 8xx".
Machine has a front lever with a plastic handle which levers downwards, pushing paper bed up. The paper bed has an attached, movable rule where printing paper would sit and a metal bar to adjust the timpan paper. On each side of the bed, there is a protruding rod. The rod on the proper left side is attached to an adjustable horizontal arm which prevents the paper from sticking to the ink. Opposite the raised paper bed, there is a flat metal panel with diagonal grooves on raised sides in which a chase can be locked. Above this, there is a detachable circular plate, known as an ink reservoir. On either side of the flat metal panel, there are moving arms which hold two rollers between the plate and print bed. The arms are silver plated and the plate can be removed to expose the springs. The arms connect at the back. At the back, there are six large bolts, three on each side, for adjusting the printing bed. On either side of the base, there are two large bolts.
