Brief History
The Bedford SB3 bus was manufactured by Bedford Motors Ltd, in 1967. It originally was commissioned by the North Shore Transport Company Ltd and painted in the company colours.

In the late 1960s the bus was sold to the Auckland Regional Authority (ARA) and was painted in the ARA livery. While in service with the ARA, the bus was involved in an accident which resulted in structural modifications being made to the front and back of the bus. The alterations to the back of the bus resulted in the luggage boot being removed and flat panels installed. In addition to the external alterations, changes were also made to the dashboard.

The ARA sold the bus to the Nimons Coach Line. It was painted in the Nimon’s colours of green and white. The structure of the bus was not altered.

The bus was later acquired by MOTAT.
