Description
A demand meter is capable of measuring two distinctly different values: energy and demand. This type of demand meter or Kilo watt hour (kWh) meter records power usage averaged over a half hour period (1 increment). It then resets itself to zero and begins to record again. A paper tape graph is fed (records) each increment of 0-100 kilo watts over a period of a month. The consumer is then billed for the power used.
This meter was one of two installed at the Whakatane Board Mills in 1939. (Make unknown)
