Description
A circular, 18ct gold and sterling silver medal awarded to Jean Batten in November 1935 for a flight between London and Buenos Aires, across the Atlantic. The medal has an outside edge of silver leaves. The centre is gold metal. One side is is inscribed with: 'Aero Club Argentina Buenos Aires' and has an image of a bird in flight with a small hot air balloon in the background. On the other side is inscribed: 'Gran Premio de Honor / Londres / Buenos Aires / Travesia Atlantico Sud / Jean Batten / Noviembre 1935'. There is a link at the top of the medal for hanging. Possibly marked below the inscription.
